Visitors, supporters and players at this year's UniBrass Championships will be able to enjoy two more attractions to what promises to be an outstanding event at York Barbican this weekend (Saturday 17th February).
Elland Youth
The award winning Elland Silver Youth Band have been invited to open the UniBrass results ceremony. Led by their inspirational conductor Samantha Harrison, they will showcase their own youthful talents.
UniBrass 2018 will also continue the tradition of running free workshops on the day of the event for people of all ages who are learning to play a brass instrument.
Owen Farr
Besson tenor horn artist Owen Farr will lead workshops on the University of York campus, culminating in a short lunch time performance in the Barbican centre.
Places are limited, and players of all ages with an approximate ability from Grade 3 upwards are welcome to take part.
Participants will also be able to buy a discounted ticket for the Gala Concert by the fantastic Tubular Brass.

New links
A spokesperson told 4BR: "This is only the second year we've invited a youth band to entertain the spectators and performers before results, but it already feels like an essential part of UniBrass.
We are always keen to forge new links with our friends across the banding community and having youth bands perform on our stage is an essential part of that!"
