4BR has been informed of the death of Graham Fitzpatrick. The former solo horn player of the Parc & Dare Band in Wales passed away at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant following a period of ill health.

Distinction

His friend and fellow bandsman Paul Williams told 4BR: "Graham started his playing career in the 1950's in the Treorchy Secondary School Brass Band under the direction of Ieuan Morgan.

He later became a member of Parc & Dare holding the position of solo horn with great distinction until he retired from playing."

Thoughts

He added: "Although not enjoying the best of health over the past few years, Graham still enjoyed socialising with his many friends until very recently. Our thoughts go out to his family at this sad time."

The funeral will be held at:
11.30am at St Peters Church, Pentre, Rhondda, for committal at Llwydcoed Crematorium Aberdare at 12.45am.

The family has requested a brass group to play at the Church prior to the service. Anyone wishing to play is asked to contact Derick Holvey on 01443 439136.
