Helston welcome new trio after record breaking Christmas

The Helston Band has welcomed three new signings as they look ahead to the 2018 season.

Following a busy period of record breaking Christmas carol fund raising, the Helston Band has welcomed three new players (pictured above, with MD, Kevin Johns).

Justin Carter joins his brother Shaun on the percussion section, whilst Lynn Richards has taken on the flugel horn role and after many years on the conducting podium, Steve Thomas returns on euphonium.

Long and happy

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Everyone involved with Helston Town Band wholeheartedly welcomes Justin, Lynn and Steve to the organisation and hopes that this will be the start of a very long and happy association.

Preparations are now underway as the band takes part in the Festival of Cornish Brass, at Newquay next month as well as the West of England Area Contest at Torquay on 10th March."
