The Kippax Band has brought in some new faces over the Christmas period in preparation for the new contesting year.

Signings

Joining from Harrogate Band is the experienced Anthony Malone who replaces Lee Fairburn on solo euphonium. After 30 years of service Lee has decided to spend more time with his family.

Also joining from Lindley Band are Paul Harris and Joanna Wood on 2nd cornet and percussion. To complete the signings is Alfie Southernwood on percussion.

No stranger

Commenting on the arrivals, a band spokesperson told 4BR: "It's sad to see Lee leave after the years of service he has given, but he's not going to be a stranger and one day he may well be back.

However, it's great to welcome Anthony whose been a friend of the band for several years and jumped at the chance of taking up the challenge."

They added: "Also we are pleased to welcome Paul, Joanna and Alfie who have really impressed everyone with their commitment and work rate."
