The Scottish Brass Band Association is looking to welcome new works from talented home grown composers to help the National Youth Band of Scotland celebrate its 60th anniversary.
SBBA is looking for a march composition from a young Scottish composer up to the age of 23, which will subsequently be performed by the band at their special anniversary concert in July 2018.
PDF format and MP3 recording
The composers are invited to submit their original march composition on a PDF format along with an MP3 recording.
A respected panel of judges will choose the top three compositions who will win prizes of £1000, £500 and £250 respectively, with the winning entry gaining that high profile premiere at the 60th anniversary concert in Stirling on 29th July.
The winning composers will also be offered mentor sessions with well-known composers.
