The remarkable Boobs & Brass will be aiming to meet one more target before they play the last chord in their outstanding 12 years of charity fund raising next year.
2018 will be the last time the band, made up of the famous pink jacketed women (and a few men) will take to the concert stage to add to the £225,000 and counting for Breast Cancer Campaign, Breast Cancer Now and various other charities.
Quarter of a million
And with major concerts planned in the next twelve months in Huddersfield as guests of National champion Brighouse & Rastrick, and at Lincoln Cathedral alongside Lincolnshire Hospital Band, founder Maggie Betts told 4BR that they are looking to top the quarter of a million pound mark.
"That would be a great way to round things off,"Maggie said. "The support we have had over the years has been amazing, but it would be perfect if we finished the last note we play by meeting that £250,000 mark."
Latest contribution
Maggie revealed that the latest generous contribution has come from the Long Eaton Silber Band, who raised over £900 at a recent event.
"Fred Aram and his wife Mavis from Long Eaton Silver organised a Ladies Festival through the Caernarvon Lodge of the Masons in Nottinghamshire and chose Boobs & Brass as their charity.
It was a wonderful gesture of generosity and typical of the help we have had over the years."

Just Giving Page
Now Maggie has set up a Just Giving page to aid that final push — and donations are very welcome as the band makes that determined push to meet the final target.
"Any and all donations are welcome and essential,"Maggie said. "The battle to beat this illness will not end when Boobs & Brass finishes, so any help will help the charities we support in their work."
