An innovative sponsorship link with one of Cornwall's leading tourist attractions will hopefully enable Bodmin Town Band to break free of the confines of the First Section during 2018.
The band will gain invaluable financial help from Bodmin Jail — the historic penal institution that was opened in 1779 and was home to prisoners (and a few ghosts) for the next 150 years. Today it welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the world and has even been seen on the hit BBC television series 'Poldark'.
Events
The band will now perform at a number of planned events each year at the tourist venue, as well as advertising the attraction on its stand banners, specially made by Centre Stage Uniforms, which will display the Bodmin Jail logo.
Bodmin Jail Events Manager, Laura Harwood told 4BR: "We are delighted to sponsor Bodmin Town Band and are looking forward to working with them closely in the future. Both the band and the jail are very active in the town and we are sure the link will ensure that both organisations will prosper well into the future."
