The Hepworth Band has joined renowned singer songwriter Roger Davies to release a special Christmas song in aid of the West Yorkshire homelessness charity 'Simon on the Streets'.
Charity help
'Christmas on King Street' was written after Roger met a homeless woman in Huddersfield, inspiring him to try and help with a crisis that becomes even more acute and potentially life threatening during the winter months.
The track is available on a CD which features a brand new arrangement of the traditional Christmas carol, 'Away in a Manger' by the Hepworth Band.
Yorkshire sound
MD Leigh Baker told 4BR: "Roger is a fantastic lyricist and the song really strikes a chord. With our brass accompaniment we've created a truly Yorkshire sound to raise money for this worthwhile cause."
'Simon on the Streets' is an independent charity covering West Yorkshire, and in particular the city's of Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield. It offers emotional and practical support to rough sleepers or those at risk of rough sleeping.
Remaining independent of statutory funding is critical to the charity's success, allowing it to work without restrictions and to deliver tailor-made support on an individual basis. The project is supported by Barratt & David Wilson Homes.

Raising awareness
Simon on the Streets General Manager Gordon Laing told 4BR: "It's marvellous that we have received both recognition and support from Roger Davies and Hepworth Band by writing and recording 'Christmas on King Street'.
We always support any means to raise awareness of rough sleepers and the homeless and to do so through this wonderful music making is fantastic."
