Carlton Main's recent appearance on the BBC's popular 'Antiques Road Trip' can been seen again on the iplayer

  Antiques expert Roo Irvine joined up with Ray Sykes and Toni Durrant for filming at the band's HQ

Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band made a surprise appearance on BBC television this week — showcasing their expertise at antique history.

The band was approached by the producers of the 'Antiques Road Trip' show with presenter Roo Irvine filmed with members of the band finding out more about the historic link between brass bands and the mining industry.

Sam Fisher, Anna Spedding, Phil Spencer, Toni Durrant, Emma Davis, Tim O'Connor, and Band Chairman Ray Sykes were on hand to showcase their expertise and knowledge for the programme which was aired on the BBC on Wednesday (18th October)

Band Chairman, Ray Sykes told 4BR: "It was great fun for us to be part of the show and good that they wanted to find out more about the historic link of our mining history."
