The Rogerstone Community Band has announced the appointment of Robert Burnett as their new Musical Director.

Regarded as one of the finest Welsh euphonium players of his generation he has played for the likes of Cory, Tredegar, Parc & Dare and latterly Mid Rhondda. He has also gained a wide-ranging respect for his teaching and conducting — including a highly enjoyable spell in France.

The band also took the opportunity to extend its thanks to Andy Wareham, who directed the band from its relaunch in February 2017.

Andy has decided to focus his time and effort on his studies and busy schedule at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the City of Cardiff M2 Band.
