A trio of stars from the Cory Band will lead the increasingly popular Mid-Winter Brass Workshop, promoted and organised by the South West Brass Band Association next February.

The event will take place over the weekend of Saturday 10th/11th of February at West Buckland School, near Barnstaple in North Devon.

Free concert

Philip Harper, Tom Hutchinson and Glyn Williams will provide both full band and sectional tuition, which will culminate in a free end of event concert.

The workshops began in Bude in 1999, and were the brainchild of the late Goff Richards during his term as the Association's President. It eventually moved to West Buckland School where it now hosts over 100 delegates, with current President Sue Richards continuing the support of her late husband's imaginative vision.

The event also receives support from Arts Council England and the National Lottery as well as raft of generous sponsors.
