Steve Stewart is the star soprano cornet with the world's number 1 ranked band, Cory. He talks to Frank Renton about finding and commissioning music for his new CD 'Over the Horizon'.

Also new is a celebration of Grimethorpe's 100th anniversary, featuring music that has helped them stay at the very top of world banding throughout the decades. There is also something from an unusual new tuba CD, 'Debut 2' by Joseph Cook.

What have the following bands got in common? One was the first band to play behind the Iron Curtain, another the first band to appear on television, and yet another had the dubious distinction of being voted in 4th place in a poll of the worst brass band uniforms well.

Well they are all former banding giants of the Midlands recalled by archivist Tim Mutum with Frank Renton.
