Full house at Wychavon

A fantastic response from competing bands means that entries are closed for the Wychavon Festival of Brass.

Wychavon Festival of Brass
The fantastic response from competing bands means the full house signs are on show...

Thanks to an outstanding response, the Wychavon Festival of Brass has closed its doors on entries for its 2017 entertainment contest which takes place in Evesham on October 28th.

Excellent organisation

Around 50 bands will provide the competitive action across five sections throughout the day, with Contest Secretary Kevin Whitaker telling 4BR that a combination of hard work, excellent organisation and recognition from bands that the event offers an ideal platform to perform has led to the record breaking take up.

"This is an unprecedented entry — and by far the best response we've had from bands in the contest's 27 year history,"he told 4BR.

Return

The contest will also see a return to action for Kevin himself after recovering from a period of ill health — starting with the draw which will be made on September 10th.

The outcome will be notified directly to the competitors as soon as it is completed.

The contest has gained a highly respected reputation for the way in which it's run, and with our link to the British Open Spring Festival, there is an added incentive to all bands to take partOrganisers

Further information

Further information about the contest day will also be made available via the website: www.festivalofbrass.co.uk
