Welsh League 2nd leg attracts increased interest

The second leg of the three contest Welsh League series will see a fine turn out of competitors in Burry Port in October.

  Burry Port will host the second contest in the 2017 Welsh League series.

Burry Port Town Band has announced an excellent line-up of competing bands for the second leg of the 2017 Welsh League contest series.

Run by the West Wales Brass Band Association Festival Contest, the contest has been successfully hosted by Burry Port over a number of years. This year the event on Saturday 7th October sees keen competition in each of the sections as well as the growing Junior and Youth Section.

Prompt start

The Fourth Section starts promptly at 9.30am followed by Third, Second, Youth, First and Championship Sections. The pre-draw and timings will be circulated all competing bands in the coming days.

Adjudicators for the day are Ian Porthouse, Dean Wright and Nigel Seaman.

November 9 • Attention soprano cornet players!. Tintwistle band (famed for the number 1 hit single Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs!) are looking for a soprano cornet player!. We are 2nd section, enjoy all year round concerts/contests, and band social events.


Harlow Brass Band

November 8 • We have vacancies for CORNETS, TROMBONES, 2ND HORN AND PERCUSSION. We are a welcoming, non contesting band who organising their own Spring and Christmas concerts and enjoy playing at local events throughout the year.


West Wycombe Brass Band
