The latest 'Top 20' list as voted on by the listeners in August has seen plenty of changes — with 48 tracks dropping off and 49 new ones added.
With several new CDs on the market and with older CDs both purchased and donated, it's really shaken up the top end of the table.
Outstanding
That perhaps explains why there have been so many changes, although the main reason has to be that there are now so many outstanding tracks that are being enjoyed by the listeners to All Brass Band Radio!!!
Soloists have done particularly well this past month with Mike Thorn, Kirsty Abbotts, Alice Bailey, Steve Molloy and Richard Marshall all in the mix.
First Section
It's also great to see Hitchin — a First Section band from London & Southern Counties, being enjoyed by so many listeners. It shows that there is a big audience out there for well chosen, well performed repertoire, whoever you are. Their 150th anniversary CD is now on a second production run!
That audience is now worldwide for All Brass Band Radio — and it is growing each month.
The USA still provides the biggest listener base, but it is now being caught by the UK and Europe with more tracks from the southern hemisphere getting an airing too.
Japanese spotlight
It was great to see Osaka Harmony from Japan featured in August, with 'Suki Yaki' making it into the 'Top 20' for the very first time.
