Sterling Instruments has announced the signing of two of the banding world's most exciting young euphonium talents as international performance artists.
Eikanger-Bjørsvik solo euphonium Lars Otto Torsvik and Tzu-Hsiang from Taiwan are already making names for themselves as consummate solo and ensemble performers, and now join a stable that includes other world-class exponents of the instrument such as David Thornton, Glyn Williams and Gary Curtin.
Huge impact
Lars Otto became the youngest player to be appointed solo euphonium with the current Norwegian and European champion, and has made a huge impact with his performances both on the contest and concert platform, winning numerous awards along the way.
Meanwhile, Tzu-Hsiang has become one of the leading euphonium virtuosos in Asia and recently completed his Master's degree at Birmingham Conservatoire following his Bachelor of Music degree from Shih-Chien University in Taiwan. He is currently performing with the Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra.
So exciting
Sterling Instruments founder Paul Riggett told 4BR: "I'm delighted to welcome these stunning musicians to our stable of international performance artists.
Lars Otto and Tzu-Hsiang represent what is so exciting about the next generation of virtuoso euphonium players — keen to explore, innovate and further develop the instrument.
It also shows that with such a strong endorsement from the world class talent we have playing on our product range, Sterling is now the 'must have' instrument for aspiring performers. Lars Otto and Tzu-Hsiang are such exciting talents and I'm thrilled to have them both on board."

Thrilled
In reply Lars Otto added: "I'm also thrilled to now be part of the Sterling line-up. It has become the first choice instrument for the world's leading performers as it is one that responds superbly to everything you want it to do."
Meanwhile, Tzu-Hsiang said: "I am honoured to join such a group of world class players performing with Sterling. Having played the instrument during my time in England with Staffordshire Band it is an instrument perfectly suited to such a wide variety of musical repertoire."
