Shirebrook Town Council's long term investment in brass band music making has once again gained widespread popular appeal.
Not only was the recent Shirebrook Town Music Festival 'Entertainment Contest' a fine success, but the series of 'Brass in the Park' Sunday concerts have also been very well received and attended.
Two to go
Running from June to September, three of the five events have already taken place, with Ireland Colliery Chesterfield due to take to the bandstand stage at Shirebrook Town Park at 2.00pm on Sunday 20th August.
The series will be rounded off by Enderby Band on Sunday 3rd September (2.00pm) — a fitting finale following their hat-trick title success at the Shirebrook Entertainment contest under the baton of MD Simon Gresswell.
Wonderful entertainment
A spokesperson for Shirebrook Town Council told 4BR: "We were delighted that Enderby Band accepted our invitation to conclude the series, initially as our 'Double Champion'. Now we welcome them as the 'hat-trick' winners — and we are sure that both they and Ireland Colliery will provide two wondeful concerts for the audiences to enjoy."
