The Enderby Youth and Junior Bands have announced that Yamaha have once again generously provided funding to help cover the costs of Neo Brass tutors to lead a training weekend at Lutterworth College in September.

The event on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September will be led by Fairey MD, Garry Cutt (above) and will start at 9.15am each morning and finish around 5.00pm.

Neo artists

Garry will be joined by Yamaha Neo artists, Kirsty Abbotts (cornets), Lucy Cutt (flugel and tenor horns), Steve Walsh (euphoniums and baritones) and Simon Gresswell, MD of Enderby Band, who will provide tuition to the tuba sections.

In addition, Alli Smith, an experienced tutor on the annual Wessex Brass Band Course will lead the percussion section, whilst members of the Enderby Band organisation will be on hand to support the work of the Yamaha tutors as players of all tackle a wealth of challenging music, as well as providing pastoral care.

The two days will be a mixture of full band rehearsals and sectionals, with regular breaks so players can meet new friends and socialise4BR

Two bands

Participants will be divided into two bands for the weekend: A junior band for players from beginner standard up to Grade 2 standard, and a main band for players of Grade 3 standard and above.

The two days will be a mixture of full band rehearsals and sectionals, with regular breaks so players can meet new friends and socialise.

The course will conclude with a play through of the music on the Sunday afternoon to which parents and friends are warmly invited.

The cost is only £20.
