Frank Renton features music for three cornets , a solo quartet and band, a piece featuring three solo percussionists , then just a solo quartet and even a piece for sixteen 16 solo trombones.

Safety in numbers perhaps? Not if the players include some of the most famous names in the band world such as David Childs, Philip Cobb, David Daws, Owen Farr, Richard Marshall and some of the best trombones players around.

Last Saturday it welcomed the best bands playing to a capacity house in Symphony Hall, and Frank Renton has all the music and conversation as they performed the critically acclaimed 'Fraternity' by Thierry Deleruyelle.
