All England Masters champion Milnrow has announced the appointment of David Gillson as their new principal cornet.
A former member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and Territorial Youth Band of the Salvation Army, he was a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award 2014 and 2015 and has previously played flugel at Foden's.
He joins from rivals Fairey where he played repiano and deputised as principal cornet.
Delighted
David told 4BR: "I'm delighted to take up the opportunity in such a dedicated and hard working band. Milnrow has enjoyed an extremely successful year and I look forward to leading them at the British Open and the National Finals.
The welcome I have received has been tremendous and I'm excited to see what the future holds."
He added: "I also want to take this opportunity to thank Fairey's for the support and the opportunities given to me in my time with them. I wish the band all the best in the future."
