The experienced band trainer and conductor Duncan Beckley has confirmed that he has amicably left Drighlington Band.

He told 4BR: "I really enjoyed my year at Drighlington, especially winning the test piece contest at Holmfirth and gaining very creditable fifth place finishes at the Yorkshire Area and Senior Trophy."

In response, Band spokesperson Ian Clough added: "We thank Duncan for his time and we both wished each other all the best for the future."
