The great American trumpet player Allen Vizzutti is currently in the UK and heading to the heartland of north-west brass banding when he appears in concert in Sandbach later today.
Teaching and performing
The acclaimed Yamaha artist will be joined by the renowned saxophonist George Shelby for a concert with at Sandbach Boys School (7.00pm) where in the first half the duo will link up with an all star rhythm section including Dave Hassell (drums), Paul Kilvington (piano) and Frank Grimes (bass).
Following the interval Allen and George will be joined by the talented young musicians of the Love Music Trust Big Band.
The Love Music Trust is the lead partner and fund holder of the music education hub in Cheshire East and recent weeks the young musicians who take part in the county ensembles have been enjoying working with some of the finest musicians in the business.

Amazing career
Allen has a CV that takes some beating — from writing trumpet method books that have become the 'Bible' for all aspiring performers to performing with legends such as Chick Corea, 'Doc' Severinsen, Chuck Mangione and Woody Herman.
He's played on soundtracks to blockbuster films like 'Back to the Future' and 'Star Trek', appeared on iconic American television shows such as 'NBC Tonight', and has performed in just about every corner of the music al world. His renowned teaching — from the Eastman School of Music to the Trompeten Akademie of Bremen Germany has inspired countless musicians.
