The students of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama will be doing their bit to help support the ongoing work of the DKMS Blood Cancer Charity and also the ongoing treatment for former alumni and star trombonist Stephen Sykes.
Fund raiser
They will be presenting a special fund-raising concert on July 4th at the Church of St Andrew and St Teilo (Woodville Road, CF24 4ED) in Cardiff, where the RWCMD Trombone Choir will be joined by the trombone quartet 'Bone Appetite' and the brass quintet 'Four's Company'.
Role model
Organiser Bethany Lee told 4BR: "This is a charity whose work is very close to our hearts — especially as they have done so much to help Stephen.
He is still something of a role model for all trombone students at the college, so to be able to do our bit to help him as well is something we all want to do."
The free concert (starting at 7.30pm) will include the trombone choir playing music from Gabrieli to Greenwood as well as many other favourites, and if you come along from 6.30pm you can sign up for the DKMS Register.
