Entries are now open for the prestigious 2017 British Composer Awards.
Anyone, including the composer, can enter eligible works across eleven award categories, which aim to promote the art of composition and recognise the creative talent of composers and sound artists, and bring their music to a wider audience.
They are unique in making contemporary music, jazz and sonic art the focus of their annual celebration. The awards are presented by BASCA and sponsored by PRS for Music, in association with BBC Radio 3.
UK premiere
Works that received a UK premiere performance, either live or broadcast, from 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017 are eligible across the following categories: Solo or Duo Small Chamber; Chamber Ensemble; Choral; Wind Band or Brass Band; Orchestral; Stage Works; Sonic Art; Contemporary; Jazz Composition; Community or Educational Project; Amateur or Young Performers.
