Yorkshire champion Black Dyke has announced the signings of Tim Hammond on solo cornet and Dave McGlynn on BBb tuba, following the departures of Kathleen Gaspoz and Damian Wileman.
Great quality
Black Dyke Director of Music Prof Nicholas Childs told 4BR: "Tim and Dave are players of great quality and have proved to be committed bandsmen.
These are the type of qualities we always seek at Black Dyke as we have such an extensive artistic and competitive profile. The duo are a great addition and I look forward to working with them both."
Opportunity
Dave McGlynn told 4BR: "I enjoyed five great years at Foden's and leave with fond memories. However, the opportunity to join Black Dyke was far too good to miss out on."
Meanwhile, Tim added: "I have also said farewell to great friends at Rothwell and wish them and my brother, who takes over my seat as principal cornet, all the very best. After touring Japan with Black Dyke last October I had no hesitation in accepting the offer and being able to renew my musical relationship with my good friend Richard Marshall."

Welcome
A Black Dyke spokesperson added: "We welcome Dave and Tim to Queensbury and we are sure they will enjoy themselves with us. We also wish both Kathleen and Damien the very best as they start out on new chapters in their brass banding careers."
