Cory's preparations for the defence of their European title in Ostend will encompass an amazing musical detour this weekend — with a prime time television performance at the iconic London Palladium.
Millions
Philip Harper and the band have been asked to appear on ITV's 'Tonight at the London Palladium' programme hosted by entertainment star Bradley Walsh.
Their performance will be recorded live in front of a packed audience of 2,200 people on Sunday evening, and subsequently broadcast to audience of over 5 million people on Wednesday 3rd May — just days after their performances in Ostend.
Different
"It's certainly a different way to prepare for a major championship appearance,"Philip Harper said with a chuckle when he spoke to 4BR.
"However, it was too good an opportunity to turn down — despite having to travel from the bandroom at 5.00am on Sunday morning up to London.
Thankfully, the television producers have arranged a room for us to use throughout the day in between rehearsals for the show, so that we won't lose too much rehearsal time on our European preparations."
You have to grab these types of opportunities with both hands, but once we knew everyone was on board. The PR potential for the band is hugeCory MD, Philip Harper
Secrecy
Phil revealed that although the request came out of the blue, the opportunity to perform alongside some of the entertainment world's biggest stars meant that the musical detour was well worth it.
"You have to grab these types of opportunities with both hands, but once we knew everyone was on board. The PR potential for the band is huge.
The producers have been superb and have done everything to help us. We are sworn to secrecy who we will sharing the stage with on the night, but we will be showcasing some of our Roald Dahl Brass in Concert programme, and will be bringing along all the trophies to glitter alongside our playing."
