Siobhan Bates, Isabel Daws, James Nash and Ellena Newton will compete in the final of the 2017 BBC Radio Young Brass Award at the RNCM in Manchester on Friday evening.
The talented quartet were announced as finalists on a special programme broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in February, after the judges had made their deliberations from a semi-final field of eight participants.
Young stars
The final will showcase three different instrumentalists: Siobhan Bates on tenor horn, trombonists Isabel Daws and Ellena Newton, and flugel player, James Nash.
Childs, Harper and Smith
Making the all important decision on who will be crowned 2017 winner will be euphonium virtuoso David Childs, Cory MD, Philip Harper and trombonist Becky Smith.
Foden's, Frank and Clare
Accompanying all of the four finalists will be Foden's Band conducted by Michael Fowles, who will be joined on stage by BBC Radio 2's Clare Teal and Frank Renton.
The audience in Manchester will also be able to hear Foden's deliver a concert programme scheduled to include the overture to 'Candide' and the rarely heard ballet music from 'On Your Toes' by Richard Rodgers. After a reprise from the winner, the live broadcast will close with Peter Meechan's arrangement of Freddie Mercury's 'Innuendo'.
In the footsteps
The winner of the award, which is now in its thirteenth year, will follow in the footsteps of 2016 champion Daniel Thomas (above), Grant Jameson, Matilda Lloyd, Ben Thomson, Stephen Sykes, Lewis Musson, Matthew White, Josiah Walters, Katrina Marzella and Brendan Wheeler.
