Buizingen get Besson boost ahead of European challenge

Belgian champion Brass Band Buizingen has been given a Besson inspired boost ahead of their European Championship appearance.

  Talented young euph star Gilles Demeurisse has now become a Besson artist.

Belgian National Champion Brass Band Buizingen will make their 5th appearance at the European Brass Band Championships in Ostend in two weeks time boosted by the news that principal euphonium Gilles Demeurisse (above) has become a Besson Artist.

Delighted with news

MD Luc Vertommen told 4BR: "We are delighted with the news and the support given to Gilles by Belgium and Holland Besson representative Jan Jansen. Besson wants to help encourage talented young players, and Gilles is certainly that and more."

Stepped up

Gilles joined Buizingen after the Belgian National Championships in 2015 and stepped up to become principal euphonium in 2016 when star player Glenn Van Looy left to live in Switzerland.

Luc added: "Gilles grabbed the opportunity with both hands and has been a talent that will now grow further and develop. He has already helped us win the Flemish Open and the Belgian National title since taking on the role, and this link is further confirmation of his emerging elite level talent."
