Katrina Marzella and Helen Varley will lead the horn and baritone spotlight day

This year the newly crowned Yorkshire Regional Champion Black Dyke will showcase a special 'Tenor Horn & Baritone Spotlight' event at their annual Festival at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday 4th June.

Family focus

Led by Black Dyke stars Helen Varley and Katrina Marzella, the workshop, which will feature exciting ensemble activities and interactive participation suitable for all family members, will run from 10.00am — 12 noon.

It will be followed by the opportunity to participate in the Gala Concert with Black Dyke Band and guests in the afternoon.

Lots to learn

Katrina told 4BR: "Helen and I are really looking forward to hosting the horn and baritone workshop. It's something we have wanted to do for a long time, as we think both horn 'family' members have a lot to learn from each other.

We have some great activities for the participants and have already had fantastic interest with some enthusiasts travelling from as far afield as the USA!"

Meanwhile, Helen added: "Places are limited however, so please do get in touch quickly if you would like to take part and enjoy some great music making together with us."
