Frank Renton presents a programme inspired and dedicated to the memory of Peter Skellern, who died last month leaving such a wealth of music.

American jazz guitarist Pat Metheny is reinvented by Eikanger Bjorsvik, House Music Anthems have long been on the programmes of the Fairey Band, and on the CD 'Summon the Heroes' we hear a completely different take on the sound you might expect to hear from a military band.

TV chef and occasional tuba player Brian Turner tells Frank about his two life-long passions: cooking and brass bands.

He recalls that his musical talents didn't exactly lead to him being fought over by any of the sections of the Salvation Army bands he played with in his younger days, but the music and the friendship he found there has inspired him and stayed with him all his life.
