All that Mezzing about jazz for Molde

Molde Band will take to the stage at one of the world's most high profile jazz festivals later this year alongside the likes of Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny.

It has been announced that Molde Band will perform at the prestigious Molde International Jazz Festival.

First time

It will be the first time a brass band has been included in the programme of an event that has gained worldwide critical acclaim, and which this year sees performances from the likes of Herbie Hancock and and Pat Metheny.

The elite level Norwegian band will perform at closing event to be held at the magnificent Molde Cathedral alongside renowned Norwegian trumpeter Jan Magne Førde and composer Henning Sommerro on 22nd July.

Honoured

The band will perform Jan Magne Førde's 'Mezzing' — a free flowing work that received its premiere at the Trondheim Jazzfest in 2016, performed by Ila Brass Band.

Molde Brass spokesperson Nils Ove Erstad stated: "We honoured to be part of a Festival that has such worldwide appeal."
