The death has been reported of the highly respected musician and teacher John Knight. He passed away on 18th January. He was aged 94.

John was appointed Head of Brass Band Music for the progressive Hampshire Education Authority and spearheaded the formation of the very successful Mid-Hants Schools Band in 1965, which in 1968 was crowned Champion Youth Band of Great Britain.
