The Lindley Band has announced the appointment of the well renowned cornet soloist James McCabe as their new Musical Director.
The former principal cornet of the Fairey and Rothwell Temperance, and assistant principal cornet at Black Dyke, James will take up his post with after the forthcoming Yorkshire Area.
Commitments
This allows him to fulfil his playing commitments with Rothwell Temperance. He will make his contest debut with the band at the Whit Friday competitions in June.

Looking forward
A spokesperson told 4BR: "James is looking forward to working with the band on a variety of exciting projects.
During the interim the band has secured the services of the experienced Neil Jowett to lead them in Huddersfield, whilst making a welcome return to the playing ranks are Paul Harrison and Robert Sykes on back row cornet and Martin Gledhill on baritone.
