The death has been reported of popular bandsman David Pearce. He was aged 57.

Talented

An extremely talented musician in the Royal Air Force for more than 20 years, David was also a very keen brass bandsman, playing solo cornet with the Ransome Band from the 1990's. He was also a key member of the band that enjoyed considerable success under the baton of Russell Gray.

Enjoyed

He also enjoyed playing with a number of other bands in the Nottinghamshire area such as Newark Town and more recently Carlton Brass.

He had battled with dementia for the last two years but continued to play until quite recently.
