4BR has been informed that Jason Smith has decided to end his role as Musical Director of Flixton Band.

During his two year tenure with the North West band, Jason enjoyed considerable success, especially at the series of annual Hymn & March contests in Morley and Brighouse, where he led the band to victories.

He also enjoyed successes at the Whit Friday contests as well as gaining a well earned reputation for innovative concert programmes.

The band would like to say a big thank you to Jason for all his hard work and inspiration and wish him every success for the futureFlixton Band

Band spokesperson Denis O'Gara told 4BR: "The band would like to say a big thank you to Jason for all his hard work and inspiration and wish him every success for the future.

We will be inviting applications for the position of MD and auditions will take place after the North West Area contest."
