Haslingden Chalk up another success

A new association with the leading fresh produce company has given the band an extra boost

There has been further good progress made for the Haslingden & Helmshore Band with the news that they have entered into a partnership with Chalkers, the market leading fresh produce company in the North West of England.

Excited

Band spokesman Phil Smith told 4BR: "We've been helped by a number of people recently as we continue to return to full contesting strength, but we are especially excited to be associated with a company such as Chalkers."

Ron Chalker Ltd dates back 55 years, when the founder set up a small wholesale business operating in the Lancashire area. Over the years it has expanded and become one of the most respected, as well as successful operations in the region with a renowned reputation for quality.

Now, assistant principal cornet and Chalkers Managing Director John Chalker has linked the business to the band to help support their determined efforts to prosper after a torrid couple of years.

The ethos of the band is one which we readily identify with — one based on traditional yet with a very modern and progressive outlookChalkers MD, John Chalker

Identify

He told 4BR: "I'm very pleased to be part of the Haslingden & Helmshore revival, and so is the company. The ethos of the band is one which we readily identify with — one based on traditional yet with a very modern and progressive outlook.

With people such as MD Simon Cowen at the helm I'm sure the band is now looking towards a fine future — one that we are delighted to play a part in."
