The search for the next Radio 2 Young Brass Award winner reaches the semi-final stage on Saturday February 11th at the BBC's Philharmonic Studio in Salford.

Eight performers

The eight young performers will be accompanied by Foden's Band under conductor Michael Fowles presenting short programmes of their own choice.

The morning will be taken up with rehearsals, with the afternoon devoted to recording the live, unedited performances.

Judges

Deciding who will reach the final which will be broadcast live in April, are euphonium star David Childs and Helen Vollam, Principal Trombone of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

The special hour long highlights programme is on Radio 2 at 11.00pm on February 28th.
