The superb work and dedication of Dianne Hastings has been recognised with a wonderful festive visit.

The presentation was made at Dianne's residential home — complete with carols

Committee members and friends of the East Anglian Brass Band Association recently made a surprise Christmas visit to play carols and make a well deserved presentation to their much respected former Secretary Dianne Hastings at the care home where she is now a resident.

42 years plus

Dianne held the role (and previously Assistant Secretary) for over 42 years and was presented with flowers and a Certificate of Honour, by current Chairman Ian Clarke, as well as being appointed Life Vice-President in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Association and the brass band movement.

Hard act to follow

The current Secretary Christine Wade (Dianne's daughter) told 4BR: "Mum has never played an instrument but always supported Dad (Brian who played in bands for over 60 years and was the Association President and Chairman until his death in 2004) and me in our brass band careers. Mum is going to be a very hard act to follow."
