The memory of the fine euphonium player Robert Jose will be celebrated later this year in a special event

The brass band community in Cornwall will pay a very special musical tribute to the memory of the popular euphonium player Robert Jose, who tragically took his own life before Christmas.

Funeral

Robert's funeral will take place on Saturday 7th January at 11.00am at Camborne Parish Church, with band members asked to wear their uniforms in tribute.

At the concert to be held on 24th May, at the Hall for Cornwall, the bands of Camborne, St Dennis, St Austell and Roche Brass will each dedicate a piece in his memory to help raise funds for the Cornwall Search and Rescue Team and Carrick MIND.

Fitting tribute

Organised by Jeremy Squibb, the 'Bandtastic' event will also remember Del Wilton, a great brass band enthusiast, who also tragically took his own life.

Jeremy told 4BR: "Rob would have been one of the stars of the original event, so we thought it would be fitting that we could remember both Robert and Del in this way — rounded off with a special euphonium feature."
