The Coalburn Band from Scotland has looked back at a highly successful 2016 that encompassed musical highlights for all levels of the organisation.
Success
Not only was there success for the Coalburn Bronze, Intermediate and Percussion Academy, but the senior Silver Band claimed the Scottish Second Section title in Perth. The Coalburn Intermediate Band conducted by Kyle MacCorquodale also performed splendidly in the non-competitive Section 4B.
In May, the Bronze and Silver Bands performed in Livingstone Memorial Church in Blantyre, whilst the members of the Intermediate and Silver Bands participated in gala days throughout South Lanarkshire during June, as well as hosting a highly enjoyable a joint Solo & Rehearsal contest day.

Coalburn also welcomed Davur Juul Magnussen, principal trombone of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to host an open day, which inspired a new group of excited youngsters to join the Bronze and Intermediate Bands, before the year was rounded off back at Perth where there was further success for the Bronze Band in the Preparatory Section of the Youth Championships.
