The Royal Northern College of Music has confirmed that they have entered into a new professional partnership with the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (ZJCM) in China
The news follows the recent announcement of two additional new partnerships with Peking University Academy of Opera and the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain.
Collaborative projects
Situated in Hangzhou, capital of the Zhejiang Province, ZJCM officially opened in March 2016 and is dedicated to providing exceptional tuition to young musicians at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Over the next three years, RNCM and ZJCM students and staff will have the opportunity to experience both organisations through collaborative projects, curriculum initiatives and student and teacher exchange programmes.
Exciting opportunities
Professor Linda Merrick, RNCM Principal told 4BR: "The RNCM is constantly looking for exciting opportunities to enhance the experience it offers to both students and staff, and our professional partnerships are integral to ensuring this is possible.
We pride ourselves on giving students at undergraduate and postgraduate level real world experiences during their studies, both in the UK and internationally.
We're very much looking forward to developing a collaborative relationship with ZJCM over the coming years, and to creating mutually beneficial projects and initiatives."

Strong links
Dame Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China added: "The UK is forging strong links with China, not just economically but artistically and creatively too.
It is wonderful to see that the RNCM, one of the world's leading music colleges, has embarked on this new partnership providing young musicians both in the UK and in China the opportunity to experience the highest level of musical training in such culturally inspiring environments."
