Whitgift International Music Competition seeks applications

There is an exciting opportunity for young male players with the 3rd Biennial Whitgift International Music Competition

  The Whitgift competition is open to male brass players between 13 and 15 and 16 and 17.

The Whitgift School in South London has announced that is inviting applications for its 3rd Biennial Whitgift International Music Competition (WIMC).

The event takes place between the 2nd& 6th April with cash prizes of up to £1000 as well as scholarships to Whitgift School with full boarding, fees and instrumental tuition included and opportunities to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO).

The deadline for applications is 31st January 2017.

Brass players

The competition is open to string, woodwind and brass players, in two age categories: 13-15 and 16-17.

Instrumentalists from the UK and around the world are invited to apply. As Whitgift is an all-boys school and due to the nature of the educational and study opportunities offered, the competition is currently only open to male applicants.

Video submission

Applicants will need to submit a video of a recent, live and unedited solo performance with their application. Successful candidates will be invited to stay at Whitgift from the 1st — 7th April to perform for a specially-selected jury of renowned performers and music industry professionals.

November 4 • We are a busy and very friendly 2nd section band with 5 current vacancies - FRONT ROW CORNET – BACK ROW CORNET- EUPHONIUM - Bb BASS - PERCUSSION. We rehearse on Tuesdays & Thursdays near our lovely home town, just a short drive from M5, J14.

November 4 • We have vacancies for CORNETS, TROMBONES, 2ND HORN AND PERCUSSION. We are a welcoming, non contesting band who organising their own Spring and Christmas concerts and enjoy playing at local events throughout the year.
