The Fairey Band has announced the signing of the talented young trombonist Isobel Daws.

Isobel started playing when she was aged 9, and has previously studied at the Purcell School of Music. She has been a member of the National Children's Orchestra, National Children's Brass Band, National Youth Orchestra and National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain.

Previously taught by Maisie Wiggins, Rob Workman and Ian Bousfield, and currently by Rob Burtenshaw and Phil Goodwin, Isobel was a category finalist in the 2014 BBC Young Musician of the Year. Until recently she was solo trombone with Friary Guildford and now studies at Chethams School of Music in Manchester. Isolbel will join Fairey on second trombone.

Izzy is such a welcome asset to what we are building at Fairey. She is so musically aware, has impeccable intonation and plays so accurately for someone so young!Fairey MD, Garry Cutt
