  David Childs will be one of the lead tutors on the popular course

The popular Mid-Winter Brass Workshop, promoted and organised by the South West Brass Band Association, will take place over the weekend of 11th & 12th February 2017 at the West Buckland School, near Barnstable, North Devon.

Tutors

The event will provide full band and sectional tuition, with a free concert at 4.00pm on the Sunday. The tutors this year will be Leonard Adams, Brett Baker and David Childs.

The workshops began in Bude in 1999 before eventually making its home at West Buckland School under the late Dr Goff Richards during his term as Association President. The event can now boost an average attendance of well over 100 people, with the present President, Sue Richards, continuing the support of her late husband.

The event is associate sponsored by Taw & Torridge Coaches and Westcott & Son Co-operative Funeralcare.

The Marple Band

March 13 • Cornet ( positions negotiable),baritone and kit percussionist vacancies to join our fabulous band. We are a friendly ambitious 2nd Section band, starting an exciting new musical journey with our MD Nick Birch.

March 12 • Back Row Cornet - due to a change in job, the band has a vacancy for a back row cornet. The band has a lovely atmosphere, and has regular jobs throughout the year as well as taking part in at least two contests.
