The final round of National Championship events take place this weekend — with competitors in Switzerland and Belgium looking to secure their places in their nation's brass band history books.
And whilst the 4BR team will be in Montreux there is sure to be just as much anticipation and excitement on show at the 38th Belgian Championships at the Cultural Centre Zwaneberg in Heist-op-den-Berg.
Added incentive
On Saturday, competitors in the First, Second and Third Division will take to the stage, followed on Sunday by the Championship Division.
The defending champion is Brass Band Buizingen, whilst there is an added incentive this year as the winning band will represent the 'home' nation at the 2017 European Championships in Ostend.
Top flight selections
The own-choice selections from the eight Championship Division bands include: 'Angels and Demons' (Peter Graham); 'Fragile Oasis' (Peter Meechan); 'Fraternity' (Thierry Deleruyelle); 'Goldberg 2012' (Svein H. Giske); 'Music for Battle Creek' (Philip Sparke); 'Red Priest' (Philip Wilby); 'Spiriti' (Thomas Doss); 'The Turing Test (Simon Dobson).
