Over the years the City of Chester Band has welcomed a host of foreign players to play with them, with Herve Parisod from Switzerland, the latest international bandsman to add to the multi-lingual ranks.
Herve, from Lusanne, has been studying at the local language college and joined City of Chester in August to become a wonderfully committed bandsman — playing a leading part in their performance at the recent Rochdale contest.
Family follower
The 25 year old cornetist usually plays with La Fanfare de Crissier at home in the Swiss cantons — following his grandfather, father and brother into the band, and during his stay in Chester Hervé visited Snowdonia, the Lake District and the Peak District as well as developing a taste for good local ale!
Wonderful visitor
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Herve has been a wonderful visitor and friend to us all. Everyone has enjoyed having him with us and we will be sorry to see him return home in December."
