There should be plenty of great competitive music making to enjoy at the forthcoming 47th Annual Yorkshire & Humberside Brass Band Association contest taking place on Sunday 6th November at the Civic Hall in Holmfirth.
Two groups
19 bands will compete in two groups, with competitors and supporters converging on the heart of 'Last of the Summer Wine' country from Yorkshire, Nottingham, Tyne and Wear, Teesside, Lancashire and North Wales.
The organisers are delighted with the response after having only seven bands competing last year.
Group B
The action commences at 10.00am with Group B competitors Deepcar, Ferryhill Town, Hade Edge B, Markham Main, North Skelton and University of Nottingham.
Group A
Group A is made up of Drighlington, Dunston Silver, East Riding of Yorkshire, Eccleston, Elland Silver, Hade Edge, Horbury Victoria, Knottingley Silver, Lindley, Llanrug, Skelmanthorpe Prospect, Stannington, Westoe
The overall winner in both groups will win the services of a Geneva artiste to perform with them as guest soloist at a future concert4BR
