2016 Italian National Championship

The first Italian National Championship has been taking place in Ascoli Piceno today.

Italian National Championship
There has been plenty of fine action to enjoy at the inaugural Italian National Championship

The musical action has been taking place at the impressive Teatro Ventidio Basso which has played host to the first Italian National Brass Band Championship.

Although there are only three bands taking part, we have had two competitions — with one band in the Challenge Section and two in the Championship Section.

Brassband Family from Frosinone conducted by Giuseppe Ferrante was the sole entrant in the Challenge Section, with Brass Band Uberetsch from Bolzano led by Hans Finatzer and Italian Brass Band from Rome directed by Filippo Cagiamila, in the Championship Section.

The adjudicators were Vincent Baroni from Switzerland and Hannes Buchegger from Austria.

Champions

The winners of the Championship Section will not only be declared the first Italian National Champions, but will represent the nation in the Challenge Section of the European Championships in Ostend in 2017.

The results will be announced following the Gala Concert which starts at 9.00pm local time.

The music performed was as follows:
