New direction leads the way at Crosskeys

Mike Davies is the new conductor at the helm of Crosskeys Bands

Baton
Mike Davies will be the man at the helm to lead Crosskeys.

Crosskeys Band has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director, Mike Davies.

Mike had taken up the role on a temporary basis after the departure of Benjamin Atkinson, but after an impressive settling-in period was offered the position on a permanent basis.

Respected

Band Chairman, Tom Rogers told 4BR: "Mike is well known and respected in Welsh banding, and it's very pleasing that we can attract musicians of his calibre to take on the MD role with the band. We are confident that Mike can lead the band to future success."

Mike recently led the band to a well deserved podium finish at the Welsh League contest in Fishguard and is looking to improve on that as the series comes to a climax in Merthyr in a couple of weeks time.

Talented

He told 4BR: "I thank the band for their confidence in me as they now look to the future.

They are a very talented, loyal and enthusiastic group of people who have great plans and I'm looking forward to working with them to achieve their goals."
