Beckley takes over lead at Drighlington

The experienced Duncan Beckley has been appointed the new MD at Drighlington Band.

The Drighlington Band has announced the appointment of Duncan Beckley as their new MD.

It follows the departure of John Roberts in August and concludes their search for the right person to take on the role.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Duncan has proved that he is an excellent band trainer and we are looking forward to building the band ahead of the 2017 contesting season. He brings with him a wealth of experience and player base to strengthen our ranks."

Busy schedule

Drighlington has a busy concert schedule in the lead up to Christmas, starting in collaboration with the folk musician Roger Davies as part of the Brighouse Arts Festival later this month.

He will make his contest debut at the upcoming Holmfirth contest in November.
